The English version of Gunslinger Girl was produced by FUNimation. The original idea for Gunslinger Girl came from a series of four video games that were only released in Japan. At this point there is no idea if the games will be released in the US. So far there is a total of 13 episodes with three DVD's their is roomers that more are to come. Gunslinger girl was released in July 2005.

Gunslinger Girl is about a Government Agency the Social Welfare Agency and their cover of helping terminal patients. In reality they are taking the patients and giving them a second chance and turning them into the perfect killing machine for the government’s dirty work.

“Officially, the Social Welfare Agency is a government sponsored corporation that's in the business of saving lives. In reality, it's an agency on the fringe of technology. They give terminal patients another shot at life using cybernetic implants. This conditioning process then shapes the patient into an efficient machine for handling all of the government’s dirty work.”

The story follows five girls Angelica, Claes, Henrietta, Rico, Triela, and their handlers as they train to fight, carry out missions for the government and try to live some what of a adolescent life, or at least what they can call a life.

"The problem lies within their brain washing procedure. I know see that the system can use some improvement."

This series is on exiting on as you see all the actions with the girls and there missions and with them trying to seek approval with the handlers to stay around and feel like they belong. Can the girl’s succeed where others have failed? Does this really work? Should the girls be put through all this? Just look around and watch the episodes yourself.
